Annwn - The logo explained.

Annwn - The logo explained - Depth of thought.

A few articles I previously read stated that the meaning of a logo doesn’t really have its place.

Although with the creation of my new logo for www.annwnrestaurant.co.uk I really wanted it to have meaning.

Surely it’s important for most things to have meaning?

The outer circles of the logo represent the cauldron of inspiration, the Cauldron of inspiration is found within the otherworld of Annwn.

The representation of the cauldron for us represents the inspiration I find in my local surroundings to create new dishes and to develop new ideas.

Our immediate surroundings and the quality of Welsh and British ingredients inspire me to look more inward to be able to create and to learn a great deal more. This is our cauldron of inspiration.

The six-light brushstroke circles also represent the 6 entrances to Annwn.

The two larger dots on the circles represent the sun (upper left) and the moon (bottom right), we all know the importance of the sun and the moons part which represent and encourage life, growth and the changing tides and seasons.

Also, there are eight smaller dots in the upper right hand to represent the four seasons and also as a chef I focus on two stages of each season, Early spring, late spring, early summer, late summer, early autumn, late autumn, early winter and late winter.

The colour of the circles represents Welsh gold.
